Take Your Board Leadership to the Next Level

We are pleased to announce an exciting partnership with Episcopal Charities and Community Services (ECCS) of Chicago. Over the next eight months, DCNP and ECCS will offer an intensive capacity building opportunity for organizations looking to take their leadership to the next level.

Program Summary

Nurturing Your High-Functioning Nonprofit Board is for board leaders, CEOs/Executive Directors, and senior-level staff who want the skills and perspectives necessary to develop and manage a high-functioning board that will help your organization reach its full potential, especially in the context of the rapidly changing environment in which we all serve today.

Participants will meet as a cohort four times over an eight-month period, while also meeting 1:1 with ECCS experts to address issues specific to your organization. You will complete ‘real world’ assignments that reinforce leadership lessons and have opportunities to network with other participants from across northern Illinois to exchange ideas, form partnerships, and identify new opportunities. Specific meeting dates will be determined after the selection of program participants.

To defray some of the costs, each organization will be asked to pay $400. This helps cover the expense of guest presenters, publications/articles, and hospitality. This special rate is available only for DCNP members. In addition, you may apply for a DCNP Professional Development MicroGrant (max. $250) to help cover this investment.

To apply for participation in this Roundtable:

And then, email us (dcnp@dekalbccf.org), by noon on September 13, 2017 to indicate your organization’s interest in being considered for participation. Following receipt of your email, prior to making the final selection of participants, ECCS will be in touch to schedule a brief interview to clarify mutual expectations, determine your organization’s readiness for participation, and answer your questions.

Please contact us if you have questions about this valuable opportunity and to express your interest!
