Patricia Davis is a Senior at NIU studying Nonprofit and NGO Studies with a minor in Marketing and Women’s & Gender Studies. This summer, Patricia participated in the Internship Program and was paired with Tails Humane Society. Here is what Patricia had to say about her internship experience:
Q: What projects are you working on as an intern?
Patricia: As the Marketing Intern at Tails I have been working to improve the organization’s social media, officially trademark the organization’s logo, and solicit donations for the Mutt Strut this fall.
Q: What is the biggest benefit and/or the coolest part of your internship experience?
Patricia: The best part of working at Tails is getting the inside look at an animal shelter. Spending my time around all these beautiful creatures has made me a happier person, I’ve even become a Foster!
Q: In your opinion, why should students pursue internship opportunities?
Patricia: Pursuing internships gives students the opportunity to experience their studies in a real world setting, and has given me irreplaceable contacts and experience.
Q: Please share any additional comments about your internship experience.
Patricia: I am so thankful for the Roberts Family Foundation. Without their support I would not be able to do this internship, and it has been such a valuable experience!
