Intern Spotlight – Emma Villella
December 4, 2018Wilfredo is a Junior at Northern Illinois University, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Nonprofit and NGO Studies. This fall, he is participating in the Internship Program and was paired with We Care Pregnancy Clinic. Here is what Wilfredo had to say about his internship experience so far:
Q: What projects are you working on as an intern?
Wilfredo: I am the Community Needs Assessment Intern. Currently, I am working on a community survey and helping We Care on a possible video. The survey looks to discover communities in DeKalb County who may be under-served or needing other services.
Q: What is the biggest benefit and/or the coolest part of your internship experience?
Wilfredo: The biggest benefit of my internship is the community survey, actually being able to participate in research is a great experience.
Q: In your opinion, why should students pursue internship opportunities?
Wilfredo: It is one thing to learn it in books and study it. But actively engaging in material and experiencing it in the real world is a completely different thing.
Q: Please share any additional comments you have about our internship experience.
Wilfredo: THANK YOU to the Roberts Family Foundation for the support. I truly could not have done it without you.
