Intern Spotlight – Elijah Bebora
December 2, 2019Nonprofit and charitable organizations interested in applying for a grant from the DeKalb County Community Foundation are invited to a free workshop on December 10 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. The workshop is open to the public and will take place in The Freight Room at the Community Foundation, 475 DeKalb Avenue, Sycamore.
Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by November 29.
Attendees will learn valuable tips and strategies to increase their chances of receiving funding from the Foundation’s various grant programs, as well as hear some exciting new initiatives. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of the Community Foundation including grant programs, fund types, community initiatives, and how they all work together to benefit the community. The workshop is led by Foundation staff and will provide ample time for questions.
“With multiple grant programs that contain different deadlines, criteria, and expectations, knowing which grant program and when to apply can be a bit confusing,” said Tiffany McQueen Lewis, Community Foundation Grants Director. “Additionally, grantees often want to know what makes for an effective and competitive application. We will share a variety of information including ways nonprofit organizations can best position themselves for support from the Foundation.”
