Give DeKalb County Reaches All-Time High
June 2, 2020Paige is a Senior at Northern Illinois University who is majoring in Psychology and Human Development & Family Studies. She recently interned with CASA DeKalb County through the Internship Program for the Spring 2020 semester.
Here is what Paige had to say about her internship experience:
Q: What projects have you been working on as an intern?
Paige: I was a social media and marketing intern where I helped do social media to inform people about what we do and why we do it. I also helped do marketing by creating posters and other things to get the word out about CASA and any events that were coming up.
Q: What is the biggest benefit and/or the coolest part of your internship experience?
Paige: The biggest benefit for me is that I get to see how a nonprofit works, learning from how it started, to how funds are distributed, and how to hire future employees.
Q: In your opinion, why should students pursue internship opportunities?
Paige: It provides you with skills that will be later used in your career, as well as you learn hands-on information instead of sitting in a classroom.
Q: Please share any additional comments you have about your internship experience.
Paige: Thank you so much to the Roberts Family Foundation for this awesome opportunity!
