Welcome to another edition of Positive Perspectives!
Positive Perspectives highlights uplifting stories from DCNP members. This idea came from our Marketing and Membership Committee, who wanted to share some good news despite the challenges we all face right now. This month we’re featuring the United Leukodystrophy Foundation. Enjoy!
United Leukodystrophy Foundation’s Giving Tuesday Now campaign raised over $30,000, which is the most successful fundraiser they have ever had. Also, after the inevitable decision to move their annual conference to a virtual format, their sponsors remained and funded the meeting as if it was still their typical $100k in-person event! ULF will be able to use the remaining sponsorship funding for operating costs since donations have declined drastically after the shelter-in-place order (March 2020). They are also getting specific sponsorship to provide financial assistance to families who lost their jobs due to COVID-19, yet are still facing hefty medical care costs. The ULF will continue its mission with more enthusiasm than ever thanks to the generosity of the community and their sponsor partners who are sustaining them despite the economic downturn.
