February 2, 2021Eligible Nonprofits Encouraged to Register for Give DeKalb County
Nonprofit registration is now open for Give DeKalb County 2021. This annual fundraising event features multiple ways to support nonprofit organizations. Donors can give online from midnight to midnight on May 6, 2021 by visiting GiveDeKalbCounty.org. Between April 22 and May 6, those who prefer to donate by check can print a donation form from the website and give by mail.
Give DeKalb County is coordinated by the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership (DCNP), a program of the DeKalb County Community Foundation. The previous seven giving days combined have raised over $3.7 million for participating nonprofit organizations.
“COVID-19 disrupted nearly everything in 2020 and Give DeKalb County was no exception,” said Ben Bingle, Director of DCNP. “However, the event carried on, nonprofits showed incredible resilience and donors demonstrated overwhelming generosity. As we look ahead, Give DeKalb County continues to be an exciting opportunity to shine a light on our nonprofit community and to support their work.”
In 2020, Give DeKalb County raised over $1.2 million and attracted 7,534 donations from donors in 42 different states and 10 countries around the world.
A Bonus Pool of funds is being raised and each donation made during Give DeKalb County is boosted by a percentage of these funds. The Bonus Pool is made possible from the generous support of Community Partners, including: DeKalb County Community Foundation, The Suter Company, First Midwest Bank, State Farm—Keicher Insurance Agency, Thrivent Financial—Shawn Blobaum, Papa John’s Pizza, NNGO Ambassadors, The Chulick Family Fund, Paul and Cheryl Callighan, Cathy Doederlein, Dave and Suzanne Juday, Herb and Linda Holderman, Reva Jungst, Mark Mannebach and Erika Schlichter, Craig and Joyce Mathey, Scott and Kristin Miller, Dan and Kathy Schewe, Lynne Waldeland, and The Zurbrugg Family.
