Supervisory Skills Workshop

DCNP and Kishwaukee College are pleased to offer this Supervisory Skills Workshop in partnership and through generous support from First Midwest Bank!

Summary

Why do people act and feel the way they do? Why are some people more “challenging” to supervise than others? What makes up a workplace culture? This supervisory training will focus on understanding what drives feelings and behavior as well as beliefs/perceptions that drive a culture at work. Learn the four major cognitive perception errors that influence feeling and behaviors and how to deal with them. Change management, communication, conflict management skills, and a problem-solving model that enhance the quality of the working relationships will be explored.

Presenter

Norman C. Dasenbrook, MS, LCPC is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who has over 30 years experience in the fields of mental health, consulting, coaching, teaching, business, and alternative dispute resolution processes. Norm has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Norm serves as an organizational consultant, trainer, and executive coach for improved performance and interpersonal skills for organizations. He has authored, “Harnessing the Power of Conflict: Leading, Learning and Living”, 2003, Crysand Press and “After 40 Years in Therapy What Have I learned? Why we do, what we do, and what to do about it!”, 2017, Crysand Press. Lecturer, teacher, and consultant, Norm is a clinician who maintains a private practice in individual, couples and family counseling in Rockford, Illinois.
